Sometimes taking care of a terminally ill pet can be just as taxing and stressful as taking care of a terminally ill person. The Pet Caregiver Burden website has some good information on how to deal with the stresses of being a caretaker for the sick. 

Did you know that Michigan State University has a Pet Loss Support Group? It is hosted by the MSU Veterinary Social Work group, with meetings on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at the Small Animal Clinic. It's free to attend and anyone is welcome. They offer wonderful information on grieving, coping and getting through the difficulty of pet loss.
